How did you get started as a designer? MaryH: “I started getting interested in textiles and wood workshops in middle school in Sweden, and found I was really good at it. I then went on to study international business and brand management, but design and fashion always stayed close to my heart. Eventually, I decided to embrace both full time in order to satisfy my creative needs, but also to share the pleasure of crafting original designs with other people”.
Fashion is…? MaryH: “Expression, inter-communication, art and transformation”.

“A Chinese-Swedish designer based in Shanghai. After completing her MBA in International Business in Sweden, London and Paris, Huynh returned to China to launch her own brand in 2010. Her brand “MaryH” consists of mainly bags and shoes made with high quality materials and leathers. Her main focus is on functionality and organization which allows you to use the same bag in various different ways transitioning sometimes from day to night….since her designs are casual and basic they can appeal to women between the ages of 25-50. She also carries some unisex items which can also appeal to men of that age group.”

Don’t mistake her for pushover though; she’s tough when she needs to be. “I have a blue belt in jiu jitsu and can kick your ass if I need to!” she jokes. Passionate and driven, those who know her best think of her as brave, fun and outgoing."
"Mary grew up in Sweden, and definitely applies the minimalist Scandinavian design aesthetic to her bags, which, besides being very pretty, are all about functionality (good quality), versatility (each one can be worn three different ways) and practicality..."
